PRP Therapy

Microneedling Facials with PRP

Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that is has become increasingly popular as a facial treatment. The non-invasive, nonsurgical process is valued for its ability to stimulate collagen production over a very short treatment duration, with little to no discomfort. Microneedling works by causing controlled micro-injuries to the skin with a microneedling pen, creating minute openings in the skin. It is often used to treat many types of facial scarring, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation. Before each procedure, providers discuss with patients their desired cosmetic goals  to determine the optimal level of microneedling. In order to ensure the comfort of our patients, we perform this procedure using lidocaine, a topical anesthetic, which is applied as a mask prior to the microneedling process. Most patients cite only feeling mild vibration on the surface of the skin.

At Hydrate House, we offer Microneedling with PRP (platelet-rich plasma), a unique facial service we perform that uses the body's own resources to enhance our patients' natural rejuvenation processes. After drawing each patient's blood sample, we separate out the platelet-rich plasma, which is used as the supplemental serum for the facial. PRP stimulates the growth of new skin cells due to its natural abundance of cytokines and growth factors. PRP microneedling facials result in smoother, tighter, and brighter skin with a reduced appearance of scarring and hyperpigmentation. Following the treatment, patients may experience facial redness for 12-48 hours after depending on the level of microneedling desired, however, most patients can expect to return to their normal daily routine immediately after the treatment.

Following a PRP microneedling facial, individuals can generally see results 6-8 days later, with continued results over time. In order to achieve maximum efficacy, we do recommend three or more routine sessions, however, most patients still notice improvements to their skin after a single treatment.

What Is PRP?

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is a component derived from blood through the process of spinning the sample using a centrifuge. PRP therapy started being used about a decade ago, mainly for the repair of musculoskeletal damage. The treatment is still prevalent for use in this way, but has also become widespread for its benefit in cosmetic procedures.

The use of PRP is advantageous to patients because of its abundance of proteins, including cytokines and growth factors. These proteins encourage tissue repair by promoting cell growth and further stimulating collagen production.

The PRP Therapy treatments we offer at Hydrate House La Palma include:

PRP Injections For Hair Regeneration

Hair loss and the diminishing of new hair growth over time can be induced by a variety of causes such as existing medical conditions, certain medications, and hormonal changes. Hair loss can also simply be a hereditary or age-related condition. Fortunately, due to the availability of PRP therapy, we offer a solution that has proven effective for many.

Hair restoration is stimulated through injecting a patient's PRP,  derived from their own blood sample, into affected areas of the scalp. The growth factors that make up the platelet-rich plasma serum aid the growth of new hair in spite of the natural waning of new hair emergence over time. PRP for hair re-growth is a valuable treatment option, as it is non-surgical and entails little to no recovery time. The procedure is about 60 minutes and is performed with topical anesthesia. It is administered with Biotin, a water soluble B vitamin that is essential to maintaining healthy hair, skin, and nails.

Optimal results are achieved through routine sessions, but consultation is required prior to beginning the treatment in order to customize a treatment plan suited to each patient's goals and expectations.
